Jenneh Rishe - Becoming a chronic illness advocate close up in a cap sleeve white dress with dainty jewelry with her visible open-heart surgery scar

Life Often Doesn’t Go the way you planned.

As we grapple with the rising scourge of chronic illness, which has now passed the tipping point where more people suffer from a chronic condition than don’t, we are struggling to strike the right balance as both a society and as individuals. Through her work, Jenneh hopes to help change that.

Becoming a chronic illness advocate

Having been a registered nurse for over fifteen years, Jenneh Rishe dedicated her adult life to helping assist in the wellness of her patients, never anticipating her journey to be redirected by her own chronic illnesses. Now she spends her time using her knowledge and experiences to ensure that others have access to accurate information, education, and resources.

Jenneh accomplishes this by giving commentary on chronic illness related topics in the press, medically reviewing content for Healthline Media, founding the non-profit The Endo Co, appearing on and being a narrative voice of the new endometriosis documentary Below The Belt (directed by Shannon Cohn & Executive produced by Hillary Rodham Clinton), and writing Part of You, Not All of You: Shared Wisdom and Guided Journaling For Life With Chronic Illness to help encourage and lend hope to others on their chronic illness journey.

Speaking Engagements.

Jenneh Rishe’s mission evolved when she was put on medical leave six years ago for the first of several chronic illness diagnoses. She struggled through the resources available with the determination that nobody else must dig for reliable information and guidance in their journey forward. She pivoted, finding purpose in her pain. She is represented by Collective Speakers, a full-service speakers bureau.

Elevating endometriosis to a public health crisis

The Society for Women’s Health Research hosted a virtual public forum to discuss the impact of endometriosis on women’s health and to highlight persistent gaps in diagnosis and treatment.

PART OF YOU, NOT ALL OF YOU

Part of You, Not All of You is a collection of words of affirmation, inspiration, and encouragement from Jenneh herself, and from others living with chronic illness, and includes short stories of Jenneh’s own journey with chronic illness. Part of You, Not All of You doubles as a guided journal and is filled with prompts to help the reader process and arrive at a place where they accept their illness as part of their identity, but not all of their identity.
